Ilhom Farmonov was born on April 26, 1978, in Tashkent, into the family of the artist Shomurod Farmonov. In his youth, as many of his father's artist friends would visit their home, his interest in singing began to awaken. As a child, he attended School No. 84 in the Chilanzar district.

After graduating from school, he enrolled in the Faculty of Folk Music at the A. Qodiriy Institute of Culture. Ilhom Farmonov began his creative career in 1986 with the songs "Eh orzular" and "Tinchlik bo'lsin". It is no exaggeration to say that the singer's songs such as "Qora ko'z", "Senmuding", "Dilbari jonon", "Sevganim sevgan", and all his other tracks have reached hit status. To date, it is fair to say that the singer's more than 200 songs, over 80 music videos, and 10 albums have found a place in the hearts of his fans. Albums such as "Qora ko'z", "Onajoning rozi qil", "Binafsha", "Sinchalak", and "Gulim" are among them. Ilhom Farmonov has also tried his hand at cinema. He played the leading role of Iqbol brilliantly in the 2003 film "Munis onam", directed by Lutfulla Sa'dullayev. The singer has also won a number of awards. He became a laureate of "Kamolot" in 1989, won first place in the "O'zbekiston Vatanim mening" contest in 1997, and was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Uzbekistan in 2000.
